Cerith Wyn Evans Karlskirche
Forms through folds (ascending)… is a large-scale site-specific sculpture conceived specifically for Karlskirche in Vienna by Cerith Wyn Evans. Measuring 25 by 15 meters and featuring neon tubes with a total length of almost 700 meters, it is one of the largest works ever produced by the artist. Over 14 km of wire and 1.5 km of cable had to be installed to position the 350 individual forms and supply them with power. The installation, which weighs over a ton—suspended from the lantern above the cupola—unfolds over almost the entire dome space of Karlskirche.
