Thomas Struth at Bauwelt Congress 2021
Lecture | Bauwelt Congress 2021
Unconscious Places - Architecture as the Essence of Public Life
Kino International, Berlin
This year's Bauwelt Congress in Berlin focuses on Carlos Moreno's much-discussed urbanity concept of the "15-Minute-City." Invited for an artistic intervention, Thomas Struth will conclude the first day of the Congress by taking a contemporary look at his group of works "Unconscious Places," which he began in the 1970s and which he has subjected to various pictorial transformations over time. In the fifth decade of his artistic exploration, Thomas Struth poses the question of the topicality of his theses in the age of the digital. Special attention will be focused on his evolving approach of showing architecture as a reflection of a society.
