New limited editions James Welling
For his second solo show at Marian Goodman Gallery Paris, James Welling created two new limited editions for the bookshop. The editions, related to the series of artworks Julia Mamaea, are inkjet prints produced from two unique prints, earlier destroyed by the artist. The subject of the photograph is the marble statue of Julia Mamaea, mother of the Roman Emperor Severus Alexander, currently in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
