John Baldessari has been awarded a National Humanities Medal for his contribution as a visual artist. His ambitious work combines photography, painting, and text to push the boundaries of image, making him one of the most influential conceptual artists of our time.

The medal will be confered by President Obama on September 10, 2015 at 3pm at the White House.
