Tacita Dean Fondation Giacometti
As a continuation of the exhibition Giacometti/Morandi. Still Moments, presented this winter at the Fondation Giacometti, two 16mm films by Tacita Dean—shot inside Giorgio Morandi’s studio in Bologna—will be screened in a special presentation.
Filmed in close detail, they offer a contemplative journey through the objects and traces of the artist’s work. The screening will also feature Buon Fresco, a macro film of Giotto’s frescoes in the Upper Basilica of Assisi, as well as Mario Merz and Portraits, which—through intimate close-ups of Mario Merz seated in his garden and David Hockney smoking in his studio—reflect on time, disappearance, and the origins of art.
