Librairie Marian Goodman is pleased to present MOVEABLE TYPES curated by Frances Horn, a line-up of artists based in Berlin, Brussels, Los Angeles and Tangier who conceive the extension of authorship as a defining part of their practice.
Jason Dodge, Denicolai & Provoost, Jonas Wood & Shio Kusaka, And Elena Prentice & Gustave De Stael, respectively contribute their efforts in print to this first platform hosted by the Librairie Marian Goodman.
In their distinct approaches to reassure the palpable effect of printed books over any easy form of surrogacy, five hundred places, Wood Kusaka Studios and Khbar Bladna opt for making books of a pocket-sized format to disseminate the voices of poets, writers and fellow artists. Denicolai & Provoost’s discipline of blending one into the other often prolongs to merging with that of the public.
MOVEABLE TYPES is an itinerant endeavour whose logic and logistics nurture the exposure of books made by artists to a greater audience.
It will be launched on September 8, from 6 to 8pm, in parallel to the opening of the exhibition Fred Sandback: Le Fil d’Occam at Galerie and Librairie Marian Goodman.
