Final Project When thinking about what to create for my self portrait, I thought about my qualities and personal traits. A bad habit I have is being on my phone too often and I feel as though this is also a general message that appeals to many people my age because we spend so much time on it. My final idea behind my 3D model was relating the principle of hierarchy with social media/technology. One of my main challenges was finding inspiration pictures because there wasn't much to photograph about this. After recently revisiting my project, I wanted to continue with the idea of the grid inspired by Sol Lewitt to symbolize a "prized possession" inside. In the end with the materials I had, the cotton swabs would not glue together and I had no way of extruding the box form to surround the model completely. Unlike other people I did not have any shape-shifting medium such as clay, so I tried to work with the materials I did have. Another idea I thought of, was adding childhood pictures pasted onto the model but I felt as though that would take away from the message I had initially. In the end, I think my project came out well considering all of the challenges I had and I was able to portray a small part of me to create an art piece.
